But Oksana Zaharov wouldn’t be in this position if the clerk at Trisha Convenience on Dyckman Street in Manhattan hadn’t issued her the wrong lottery ticket, she said.

Zaharov said she set out to purchase $1 scratch-off ticket, but was handed a $10 Set for Life ticket instead.

"When the clerk handed me the wrong ticket I felt bad so I decided to just go ahead and buy it," she said. "I actually used the ticket as a bookmark for a couple weeks before I decided to scratch it."
